*Job Summary:*
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing the construction engineering functions on the project to ensure adherence to all engineering and construction plans and specifications. Ensures timely and efficient completion of the work and that all work is accomplished in accordance with project specifications within project schedules and budgets in a quality manner while conforming to the applicable engineering requirements.
* Duties & Essential Job Functions:*
1. Manage the engineering functions on the construction project.
2. Support the Project and Construction Manager's in the administration of the project by participating in reviews of the project concerning project cost, schedule, performance and other administrative functions as may be required to assure successful completion of the project.
3. Interface with home office engineering to resolve problems in the field using (RFI's) Requests for Information or Field Change Requests.
4. Ensure that the engineering staff on the project site are supporting the project controls staff by accurately reporting installed quantities as required.
5. Interface between the project site and home office engineering which may require initiation of such documents as Requests for Information, Field Change Requests, Project Change Notices, Non-Conformance Reports, Field Orders, Change Orders etc. to resolve questions or to address changes or non-conformities during the construction phase of a project.
6. Conduct inspections and document activities via the Quality ITP program.
7. Lead Mechanical and PSSR walk downs.
8. Support the Construction Management staff in developing specialized safety programs and procedures.
9. Provide and confirm horizontal and vertical control and layout required for the accurate installation of commodities.
10. Assist in the development of project schedules.
11. Ensure that as-built drawings are provided to the home office at completion of the project.
12. Inspect the work during and after completion to assure conformity to design specifications and ensure As-Built Mark-Ups for Job Books are completed.
13. Assure all inspection and installation documentation are provided for any turn-over packages to the Start-up/Commissioning group and support the start-up and commissioning of constructed facilities.
14. Provide reports as required to support Project and Construction Management staff.
15. Assist in obtaining the necessary permits and coordinate construction activities with city and state agencies as required.

1. Must have good written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
2. Ability to read and interpret policies, programs, and regulations.
3. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ensure prompt completion of tasks and assignments.
4. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job.
5. Competent with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs.
* Qualifications:*
* Required:*
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from and accredited university.
2. 5+ Years prior experience working on construction projects.
