Sr. Safety Supervisor
*Job Summary:*
The Sr. Safety Supervisor will be responsible for implementing and administering the Health, Safety and Environmental programs that ensure compliance with statutory requirements and promote safe and healthy working conditions. Performs complex assignments, maintains schedules, directs professional team members and follows the direction of the designated client representative. The Sr. Safety Supervisor will support, create, manage, and implement environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
* Duties & Essential Job Functions:*
1. Participate and lead HSE audits and inspections.
2. Attend and lead contractor safety meetings.
3. Assure contractors JSA's are in compliance with company and site requirements.
4. Monitor work activities to ensure work is being performed in accordance with the project safety program requirements.
5. Coordinate and organize HSE activities on the project to avoid interferences in work activities performed by the various contractors.
6. Coordinate the safe movement of various types of construction equipment to support the contractors work activities and the project schedule.
7. Ensure all workers have proper training to safely perform their job duties.
8. Assist in the planning and execution of emergency response drills.
9. Lead accident/incident investigations for all safety and or environmental incidents.
10. Maintain project safety records.
11. Provide guidance to project and contractor staff on practical solutions to reduce HSE risks.
12. Conduct or coordinate the scheduling of any safety training required.
13. Review and update the Site Safety Manual as needed.
14. Attend weekly construction progress meetings to assure good communication between the various entities on the project and provide project safety performance leading and lagging indicators.
* Other Functions and Responsibilities:*
1. Must have good written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
2. Ability to read and interpret policies, programs and regulations.
3. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prompt completion of tasks and assignments
4. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job.
5. Competent with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs.
* Qualifications:*
* Required:*
1. Bachelor's degree in EHS or closely related field from an accredited university or a minimum of 8 years' experience in the field of Construction Safety and 3+ years' experience in Safety Management
2. TWIC, ARSC Basic Safety.
* Preferred:*
1. Working toward ASP or CSP.
