Welding Inspector
*Job Summary:*
The Welding Inspector will be responsible for all welding activities conducted on the project site. Ensures that proper provisions are in place for the review and inspection of all welds performed on site. Ensures that all necessary documentation is recorded and stored according to company and client policies as well as federal, state and local requirements.
* Duties & Essential Job Functions:*
1. Review material test reports.
2. Spot check common material and 100% check exotic material.
3. Verify impact testing, hardness testing, etc.
4. Monitor handling and storage of materials.
5. Review spool drawings and compare with field break isometric for drawing errors, RT percentages, fitting orientations, continuation breaks, and material types.
6. Monitor fitting activities.
7. Monitor correct use of WPS and adherence to specification requirements.
8. Monitor adherence to interpass and pre-heat temperatures as specified on WPS.
9. Address and communicate quality issues or concerns of non-conforming work.
10. Monitor heat inputs where critical to WPS (Impact Testing Requirements).
11. Monitor / Inspect welding activities on exotic materials with special attention to weld draw.
12. Review PT, MT, PMI, PWHT, and RT reports. Verify acceptance criteria to applicable code.
13. Review and verify heat numbers, weld maps, and WPS recorded properly on drawing.
14. Inspect orientation of fittings, dimensions, and plumb-level-square, thread-o-lets and o-lets.
15. Inspect Coating application (Surface preparation, blasting, painting and cure times).
16. Inspect 100% for dimension, orientation, and levelness prior to release.
17. Attend and participate in production/quality meetings as needed.

1. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prompt completion of tasks and assignments
2. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job.
* Qualifications:*
* Required:*
1. Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification.
2. High School Diploma.
3. Legal Authorization to work in the United States.
4. 5+ Years Welding Inspector experience in a construction setting.
